Shanghai is an inclusive diverse city, and Yanqing Road is its epitome. On the one hand, there are old Shanghai houses, and on the other hand, there are different styles of shops from different cities. This Yunli Copper Pot Rice Noodle Shop is one of them. The shop was small, about the size of my bedroom, and only 10 people could sit in it at a time. The environment is clean. There are not many dishes here, in addition to some classic rice noodles, there are some innovative flavors to choose from, so that people can learn about Yunnan food in a new way. I did not expect that in this small street in Shanghai, I could taste the food from afar. Later, I also found noodles from Shaanxi, seafood congee from Guangdong… This makes me realize that “City foods” in Shanghai not only contains local food in Shanghai, but also includes special food from different cities. It allows people to have a great eating experience without having to go far away, and it is a very happy thing, which is why I choose it.

I want to share with you the process and experience of creating city food walk video. In Summer Holiday, my family and I went to People’s Square and paid a visit there. Then we find a small restaurant. It names Da Hu Chun. The signature feature of the restaurant is exactly the food I introduced – fried buns. Fried buns are local snacks in Shanghai with a long history. Although they may seem common, it is not easy to make delicious fried buns in reality. But this shop’s fried buns in this shop really amazed me. Why do this small and isn’t eye-catching shop can do so delicious fried buns?
With the curiosity, I knew this shop’s history. It started in 1932. Fried buns are their most unique delicacy. As I watched the crowd of customers, I recorded the process of making fried buns. It wasn’t until I left the store that I realized that “Da Hu Chun” had won the Michelin star for five consecutive years and had also been on many food honor lists. This is a great honor for a snack shop.
I have compiled these materials into city food walk videos and introductions, hoping that more people can learn about the history of Shanghai’s local snack – fried buns.
There are many unremarkable yet distinctive snack shops in Shanghai, which allow us to taste the unique features of old Shanghai and understand the vast and profound culinary culture of Shanghai. This is the significance of their existence. This city food trip not only allowed me to taste Shanghai’s specialty food, fried buns, but also allowed me to experience the charm of traditional Shanghai food and understand the long history and long history of Shanghai local food. I hope everyone can learn more about and taste Shanghai local food in the future.

I’m really excited to be here today to chat with you about creating an awesome video. Whether you’re a budding content creator or just someone who loves showcasing the beauty around you, I’m here to guide you through the exciting journey of making a video that truly grabs your audience’s attention. The video creation is mainly divided into three sections which may also consists of small parts, preliminary planning, shooting and editing. In general, it usually takes at least 6 hours to create a wonderful video according to my experience. A well-prepared plan will make the shooting process more efficiently. Please don’t just take action in short when you are requested to create a video, but without any thoughts or preparations. Try best to make the creative shooting, in different angles, use local elements, or engage with people on the scene. And be patient, be meticulous to edit the video. You can make good use of existing materials such as scenery shot, transition shots, memes and so on. I believe it will be helpful for raising audience’s interest and desire to continue to watch. I am very excited to win the award of City Food Walk video creation. And I really appreciate it you offer me the opportunity to share my success experience. Today, I just shared the methodology of making videos. However, everyone has their unique perspective, insights, and style. Persisting in creating content in a style that you like and that is unique to you is the most important element for successful video production. I hope you will develop something amazing in future.
Last but not least, I would like to conclude my sharing by quoting a famous director, Mr. Zhang Yimou. “生活也许被格式化,但艺术创作需要个性化!”

We’d like to share our video project process. We broke it down into three parts. The first is the preparation of our entire project, including the filming plan and the video structure. We first evaluated our shooting location and time requirements from the documentation of the activity plan, and then chose Laowai Street from many restaurants and food streets. After that, we made a filming plan, from the assemble to the final reshoot. Then we planned the structure of the whole video, from the introduction of Laowai Street to the summary, and the estimated time of each segment was not much different from the final product. Next comes to the interview. During the interview, some unexpected things happened, such as we could not enter the kitchen, the interview time changed, and so on, but we interviewed the main chef, and his answer was better than we expected. At last, our interview video is 3 minutes and 50 seconds long. We then edited our video, which is the least difficult part but takes the longest time. Now comes to the conclusion. Through capturing the city’s beauty and exploring Laowai Street, we interviewed chefs, tasted dishes, and learned about its food culture and history. We recorded our experiences in English for a video, enhancing our oral English skills. We hope that through our footage and words, more people will learn about the beauty and cultural fascination of this city.

We asked the first question in order to know if his dish can meet both the local and the people from other places’ taste. We wanted to know if people from everywhere loved the food in this restaurant, because Shanghai is a big city of many kinds of food.
The second question is asked in order to recommend dishes in our video. We wanted the people who watched our video know how to choose what to eat in the restaurant and what tastes best. We also wanted to know if Frankie had changed his recipe to adopt the taste of Shanghai people or if he insisted in keeping the original flavor. After we told you about our interview, here’s why we decided to go to this restaurant. When Frankie first started his business, he simply hoped to provide authentic Singapore food so that Singaporeans who worked in Shanghai got to taste familiar hometown flavours, which make them feel less homesick. So, this restaurant is very local and is a window to let many Shanghai people know about Singaporean culture. We are also one of them. We wanted to know the food cuisine from other countries. We also wanted to meet the star of the restaurant–Frankie. He loved both Singapore and Shanghai and also has a special story that we are very interested in. This restaurant is also very famous. Actually, it is so famous that CCTV even made a documentary for it, and Singapore Prime Minister also visited it before. Now, we will show you some of the dishes in the restaurant. What we eat is delicious food, but what we’ve learned is the culture of another country. At the same time, we also believe that traditional cuisine is the treasure of every country and nation, it should be passed on. Frankie also told us that no matter where we are, as a Chinese, we must do two things well. One is to teach our children how to speak Chinese, and the other is to use chopsticks. He hopes that the friendship between China and Singapore lasts forever.
