“Telling Chinese Stories in English, Sharing Culture with the World”
— Highlights from SUIS Jiaoke Special Event
5月26日下午，上海闵行区协和双语教科学校洋溢着浓厚的文化氛围，第五届“用英语讲中国故事”活动专场在此精彩上演。本次活动由协和双语教科学校主办，中国教育电视台(CETV)、中国国家创新与发展战略研究会、新航道国际教育集团共同承办，以“中华文化 世界传播”为主题，来自不同年级的9名学生用英语生动演绎了中国传统故事，为观众呈现了一场精彩的文化盛宴，展现了新时代青少年的文化自信与语言魅力。
On the afternoon of May 26th, Shanghai United International School Jiaoke Campus in Minhang District was immersed in a vibrant cultural atmosphere as the 5th “Telling Chinese Stories in English” event took place. Co-hosted by SUIS Jiaoke Campus, China Education Television (CETV), China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy, and New Channel International Education Group, the event carried the theme “Chinese Culture, Global Heritage”. Nine students from different grades vividly presented traditional Chinese stories in English, delivering a cultural feast for the audience and demonstrating the cultural confidence and linguistic talents of the new generation.
「故事新绎」Traditional Tales, Fresh Voices
从火药的神奇冒险(The Fantastic Adventure of Gunpowder)到愚公移山(Yugong Removing the Mountains)，从《西游记》中孙悟空的成长(The Growth of Monkey King)到西安的盛唐之梦(Charming Xi’an: Dreaming Back to the Tang Dynasty)，同学们以创意表演和流利英语，带领观众穿越古今，感受中华文化的深厚底蕴。
From the invention of gunpowder to the legend of Yugong, from the journey of the Monkey King to the glory of the Tang Dynasty, students captivated the audience with creative performances and fluent English, bridging the past and present.

The awards were presented to winning students by Ms. Shen Yanli, Shanghai Regional Judge of the “Telling Chinese Stories in English” program, along with Principal Li Chunyan and Vice Principal Shan Ziyu of SUIS Jiaoke Campus.

1. 文化深度 Cultural Depth
“Stories like the intangible cultural heritage Molten Iron Flower were not only inspiring but deeply rooted in Chinese tradition. I even learned new vocabulary and cultural insights from some contestants!” (同学们选取的故事如国家级非遗『打铁花』，不仅生动有趣，更扎根中国传统。部分选手的词汇运用和文化知识连我也受益匪浅！)
2. 语言表现 Linguistic Excellence
“Advanced vocabulary, complex grammatical structures, and natural pronunciation showcased the beauty of English language mastery.” (大多数同学能熟练运用高级词汇和复杂句式，发音清晰自然，充分展现了英语的语言之美。)
3. 创意呈现 Creative Delivery
“From multimedia aids to costumes and interactive elements (e.g., candy distribution), Contestant No.6’s creativity stood out.” (从精心设计的PPT、服装道具，到互动环节(如分发糖果)，6号选手的创意尤其令人印象深刻。)
二、提升建议 Constructive Feedback：
1. 节奏把控 Pacing
“A slightly slower pace for key points would enhance clarity.” (适当放慢语速，尤其在关键句和复杂内容处，有助于观众理解。)
2. 肢体语言 Body Language
“More eye contact and gestures would amplify emotional connection.” (加强眼神交流和手势运用，能让讲述更具感染力。)
